Has Your Hip or Knee Replacement Failed?

If you have undergone a hip replacement surgery since 2003, check with your surgeon to see if you were implanted with a DePuy ASR hip replacement system. These devices were recalled during 2010 due to a high failure incidence, resulting in metallic debris in the hip joint which causes pain and joint damage. Around 13% of these devices have been found to fail, so you may not necessarily have a problem with yours. If you do start to experience pain, contact a personal injury lawyer to look into pursuing a DePuy hip recall lawsuit. Lawyers have been successful in reaching advantageous settlements for their clients based on the fact that DePuy knew the devices were faulty long before recalling them.

Problems with Zimmer, Inc.s knee replacement systems became public when Dr. Berger, who has implanted over one hundred Zimmer knees, published a 2010 study entitled, The High Failure Rate of a High-Flex Total Knee Arthroplasty Design. His article and public statements have stirred up a flurry of lawsuits brought forth by Zimmer NexGen recall lawyers. Company officials claimed Zimmers early failure rates were due the surgeons poor technique for implanting the devices. Ironically, Berger served as one of Zimmers prime consultants for a decade, during which time he received over $8 million in compensation. The company was forced to recall some of their products and no longer employ Zimmer.
